SRTC employees launch ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’, 44 court arrest today

Jammu, Oct 3 As part of ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’, 44 employees of State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) today courted arrest demanding release of their pending wages and benefit of 6th pay commission.
A large number of workers and employees of the Corporation held protest rally from MD Office SRTC Vikram Chowk to Police Station Gandhi Nagar where they court arrested in support of their demands.
The protesters on agitation from last 39 days against the rigid attitude of the Government and demanded benefits of 6th pay commission, regularization of contractual and consolidated workers, disbursement of pending DP, GP, pending salary of four months and implementation of written agreement reached between the Government and the employees in 2008.
The agitating employees demanded categorical assurance from the government for settlement of their demands at the earliest.
