| Geelani not to any mosque since Mar 25 | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 4 : Chairman of the breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani remained under house arrest, while chief of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammad Yaseen Malik, arrested along with his supporters yesterday was released. Mr Geelani remained under house arrest and he was not being allowed to move out of his Hyderpora residence, a spokesman for the amalgam said. He said a large number of security force personnel remained deployed outside his residence. Geelani, who could not offer Eid-ul-Fitr prayers, said adding he was also not allowed to pray Friday prayers in the mosques since March 25. About a dozen other separatist leaders, including Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chief Shabir Ahmad Shah also remained under detention in different jails in Jammu region. Meanwhile, a JKLF spokesman said Mr Malik and others were released last night. He and his supporters were taken into custody at Mirgund when they were on way to Baramulla where a 12-year-old boy Irfan was killed after he was hit by a teargas shell on Friday afternoon.
