| Bank robberies new terror in J&K | | Are your bank deposits safe? | | CHAMAN KAUL JAMMU/BHADERWAH: Vandalism after terrorism is obvious. After bloodshed, rape, murders, corruption and smuggling state is at new path of humiliation. Three incidents of bank robbery in Bhaderwah-Doda in a month are quite concerning for one and all. Last night some unknown robbers entered in State Bank of India branch Udrana in Bhaderwah and damaged two lockers and some paper files, sources said and added that robbers entered from the back side of bank and could not reach to premises wherein cash was stored. Sources added that in lieu of cutting the connections of CCTV installed in the bank robbers cut down electrical wire causing short circuit of which robbers left with out completing their job. Earlier, big scandals one in J&K Bank for 40 lakhs and another in SBI branch Ghata Morh were reported in a month besides Rs 1 crores robbery in Kishtwar. Branch Manager Shafqat Ahmed Shago regarding the incident told early Times that he and his attendant Khaliq were in the office premises for couple of hours engaged in some official work. On their leaving robbers might have noticed them and penetrated through kitchen as kitchen used to remain open during working days, he said and added that involvement of some local miscreants can not be ruled out. He said that branch being fully computerized would not lead to any data loss or any disturbance in smooth working. On getting information, team of police cops rushed on the spot and started investigations in the case. A FIR stands also lodged in police station Bhaderwah as per reports. To get further details of the case SHO and Munshi were contacted but both of them were out of police station. Even cell phone of SHO was replying as ‘switched off’.
“We are in dilemma as nobody is trust worthy in prevailing system of dispensation. Banks were the last hope to preserve our hard earned money for our future and old age but unfortunately banks also are becoming smooth target of robbers” said a resident of Bhaderwah Abdul Samad and added that law and order situation is getting deteriorated day to day and nobody is takes it seriously which causes deep concern among the common masses for the safety of their assets.
