| Autonomy, self-rule not acceptable in Jammu: JSM | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 4- “No solution to Jammu and Kashmir problem shall be acceptable to the people of Jammu region that maintains or increases the hegemony of Valley over Jammu region’ said Jammu State Morcha here today. The Morcha in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its President Prof Virender Gupta said the ‘people of Jammu region shall oppose any move to alter geographical boundaries of Jammu province and divide it on communal lines. The Morcha warned that any such move on the part of Government of India would force migration of population that may result into great bloodshed among different communities. Such a solution can perish the secular traditions and ethos of the people of the region and would be against the interest of country and J&K State Taking strong note of the reported move of the Centre to work out a solution to resolve Kashmir issue in consultation with Pakistan, separatists, PDP and NC by granting greater autonomy to state and dividing Jammu province on communal lines, the JSM said that the people of Jammu region would only accept such a solution that empowers them and give them the right to decide and make their own destiny. People of Jammu province want separate legislature, separate executive which can only be attained by creating a new State for Jammu province, the Morcha added. ‘The Government of India should not enter into such an adventurous solution to appease Kashmiri leaders and secessionist elements as such a solution is against the national integrity and ultimately lead to separation of Jammu and Kashmir’, the Morcha opined. Great Autonomy or Self Rule, as proposed by National Conference and PDP respectively, is not acceptable to the people of Jammu region and that of Ladakh as these are against their interests and aspirations. They perceive these solutions to strengthen the fundamentalist forces as well as the hegemony of Kashmir Valley and instead of solving the Jammu and Kashmir issue it would make the state more vulnerable to antinational and secessionist forces, the Morcha said. The meeting among others who attended by Hit Bandu Khajuria, Advocate Abdul Rouf, Capt (Retd)Anil Gour, Dig Vijay Singh, Chandra Uday Sharma and Divender Singh Jamwal.
