Jammu Jats transcend party barriors accuse police of harassing community

Jammu, Oct 05-Accusing the police for harassing the Jat families, while investigating Amandeep murder case, All J&K Jat Baradari today appealed the Chief Minister to personally intervene into the matter and also asked the members of the Baradari to unitedly fight for the cause of community.
A meeting of All Jammu and Kashmir Jat Baradari was held under the chairmanship of its President and former MLA Ch Piara Singh where it was unanimously decided to fight for the cause and concerns of the Baradari.
With regard to the harassment at the hands of state police to the families and relatives of Ch Nagar Singh, the meeting decided to meet Chief Minster to urge him to intervene into the matter and if he fails to do so the community will continue the struggle against high handedness of the police.
The speakers at the meeting said that the families do not extend any support to the accused who has already been arrested by the police and Government is free to proceed under law but there was no justification to disturb the families who are not even remotely concerned with the matter.
“This is for the first time that family and relatives of the accused are being harassed by the police when the accused has already been arrested”, the meeting observed and questioned that on what grounds police was ransacking the houses of the relatives and harassing the females during the night hours besides conducting raids at the business establishments of the community members.
The speakers stressed upon its community members to unite at all levels including political so that the Baradari can have at least 4 to 5 members in the Legislative Assembly of the state to strengthen the political base of the Baradari. They said the members of the Jat community should unite to send more MLAs in the state assembly to fight for its cause like the Baradari people of Suchetgarh and Marh succeeded in sending Ch Sham Lal and Ch Sukhnandan respectively.
The president appealed the members to brace up well in advance to send more than four members in the State Assembly in the next elections.
The members irrespective of their political affiliation including ruling alliance unanimously decided to fight for the cause and concerns of the Baradari.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Sardar T S Bajwa, former MP, Sardar Manjit Singh former Minister, Ch Garu Ram former Minister, Ch Sham Lal and Ch Sukh Nandan both sitting MLA’s, Sardar T S Toni, Surinder Choudhary, Ch Amar Nath, Ch Dawarka Nath, Corporator, Ch Dev Raj President Sarpanch Association Jammu, Sardar Kulwant Singh Batti and Ch Vikram Randhawa.
