| Prize-winning students of symposium posing with their teachers at GHS Battal Ballian, Udhampur on Sunday. | | Arti adjudged best in symposium | | UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 1 Arti Devi, a 9th class student of Government High School, Roun was adjudged as over all best in a symposium competition on the topic “ ROLE OF WOMEN IN SOCIETY” organized by the District Information Centre, Udhampur in the premises of Government High School, Battal Ballian, yesterday. Miss Akriti Malla, a 10th class student of Indira Memorial Academy, Rathian clinched second position while Miss Pooja Bhatt, a 9th class student of the same Academy stood third in the contest. Consolation prize went in favour of Miss Meena Devi, a 9th class student of Government High School, Battal Ballian. In all, 11 students of different schools participated in the competition, The Headmaster of GHS, Battal Ballian, Smt. Sudershan Abrol was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Abrol lauded the efforts of J&K Information Department in organizing this function in rural area school. Such programmes help in exposing the talent of students besides providing them a common platform to interact. She insisted for holding more such programmes in educational institutions for development of their mental faculties. The chief guest also distributed trophies among the winners and certificates of merit among all participants. Smt. Jeevan Prabha, Smt. Karuna Devi and Smt. Suman Sharma (all Masters) acted as judges in symposium contest. |
