| State Level Ram Lila Competition concludes at Reasi | | | Early Times Report REASI, OCTOBER 06 - The 7th State Level Ram Lila Competitions which started at Ram Lila ground Reasi from 29th September, 2009 concluded here yesterday.
The Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports, Mr. Rajinder Singh Chib was the chief guest while Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik presided over. The local MLA Mr. Baldev Raj Sharma was guest of honour and ex-Minister Mr. Jagjiveen Lal as special guest on the occasion.
About 15 Ram Lila clubs from various districts which included Reasi, Udhampur, Jammu, Kathua, Samba and Rajouri participated and established their performance on various themes of Ram Lila during the contest.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest congratulated the Durga Natak Mandli Reasi for their best efforts to continue the process of Ram Lila from last 120 years at Reasi. He also appreciated the performances presented by various clubs during the competition. Regarding increasing the area of Ram Lila ground, the Minister assured that Floriculture department would be consulted in this behalf. The Minister also sanctioned Rs. 3 lac for the development of this theatre and other allied activities.
The Minister for Higher Education, MLA and former Minister also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the President of Durga Natak Mandli for their performance. Mr. Baldev Raj Sharma sanctioned 25 seated bus for the Degree Collage and Rs. 3 lacs for the development of Durga Natak Mandli.
In senior category, Naryan Kala Kendra Rehmbal (Udhampur was declared first while 2nd and third positions were bagged by Mahaveer Youth Club, Garhi and Sunder Club Sunderbani respectively. Mahaveer Youth Club Garhi was awarded as best club.
In junior category, Vaishno Kala Manch, Vijaypur was adjudged first, Savrang Kala Manch, Reasi as second and Rama Natak Club Bhaddu of district Kathua as third winner. Abhaya Kala Manch was awarded as consolation award on the occasion.
The trophies were sponsored by Lakshya “THE AIM” a non governmental organisaion.
The Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Mr. M.H.Bhatti, Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Anand Jain, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sukhdev Singh Sambyal, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Udhampur/Reasi, Ashok Kumar, councillors, prominent people of Reasi large number of people including women and children participated in the concluding function.
