Early Times Report REASI, OCTOBER 6 - To review the progress of development activities under execution at various parts areas of Reasi district, the Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports, Mr. Rajinder Singh Chib convened a district officers meeting here today. Interacting with the participants, the Minister enquired about detailed activities of their concerned departments like PMGSY, R&B, PHE, Education, Social Welfare, Fishery, RDD, Agriculture, Horticulture, CAPD, Youth Services & Sports, Power, Sheep, Health, Revenue etc. and issued on the spot necessary instructions to the concerned departments to carry out the initiated activities effectively through the district. While inspecting the ongoing work of Mini Secretariat at Reasi, the Deputy General Manager apprised the Minister that construction work of Deputy Commissioner’s office is near completion and the work on both administrative blocks is in speedy progress which would be completed by ending December, 2010. He appraised that against the estimated cost of Rs. 34 crores an amount of Rs. 13 crores have been expended for construction of Mini Secretariat so far. Similarly officers of various departments also gave detailed resume of their departmental activities. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that as funds have been approved in the recent District Development Board meeting all departments need to speed up the tempo of development works which have been taken in hand for their timely completion. He exhorted upon the officers to realize their responsibilities and serve the people with dedication. A deputation of local prominent people which include former Minister, Mr. Jagjiveen Lal, District Vice President of NC, Mr. Mohd Ayuab Bhat, District Joint Secretary, Aslam Bhat, Block President, Mr. Raj Kumar Sharma, senior leader of NC from Bharakh Mr. Mohd Sharief presented charter of demands to the Minister which included introducing of trades like Plumber, motor mechanic, tractor mechanic, A/C Refrigerator, Mechanic general, Electronics and Radio & TV.
The Minister assured that their genuine demands would be conceded in phased manner soon. Earlier, Mr. Chib conducted surprise visit of Industrial Training Institute, (ITI) Reasi and found 6 employees absent from duty including Superintendent ITI, Reasi.
The absent employees which included Superintendent, ITI, Mr. Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Supervisor, Ved Parkash, Fitter Inspector Ramesh Chander, Sewing Instructor, Parveen Bibi, Orderly Noor Elahai and sweeper Pawan Kumar were immediately placed under suspension. Mr. Vivek was ordered to work as the new Superintendent who would took over as Superintendent of ITI Reasi from tomorrow.
