DGP sanctions scholarships for 56 Police martyr’s children

Srinagar, Oct. 06: Stressing for all-round development of Children of police personnel in the field of education, the Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Kuleep Khoda, today called upon the student community to give priority to quality education as it will enable them able to take futuristic responsibilities as good citizens.
Mr. Khoda said this while sanctioning the scholarships of more than Rs. one lac in favour of 32 school going children of police martyrs, who are studying in different educational institutions in different classes. The` scholarships have been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund for the academic year 2008-2009. He said that the parents of these children have sacrificed their lives for the integrity of the state and have saved the life and property of the people while fighting militancy in the State. This is due to their supreme sacrifices that we have succeeded in bringing peace and normalcy in the State.
Besides Rs. 0.30 lacs have been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund in favour of 24 wards of those police personnel who have died due to natural and accidental deaths while in service.
The Director General of Police said that children are our future and it is the prime responsibility of the police Organization to facilitate their modern education so that they do not feel deprived. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is taking keen interest in providing quality education to the children of our martyrs to get them acquainted with latest techniques.
The scholarships sanctioned among the wards include Amir Farooq, Rahul Singh, Rohit Singh, Khalida Majeed, Zahid Rasool, Ulfat Bashir, Nahida Bashir, Aanisa Bashir, Asia Ahad, Romi Ahad, Fozi Ahad, Insha Ahad, Shazia Jan, Nadi Jan, Farzana Amin, Owais Nadi, Shaid-ul-Islam, Qudsia Rasool, Shariq Rasool, Mehraj Din, Tawheeda Yousuf, Zahid Yousuf, Arif Jan, Jasmeena Gulzar, Afaq Ahmed, Rameez Ahmed, Binish Rashid, Iqra Rashid, Imtiyaz Ahmed, Shabnum Bashir, Umar Bashir, Farkhanda Bashir, Zahida Nazir, Muzamil, Bintuljahab, Mubasher Bashir, Musrat Jan, Javaid Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Akka Bano, Rudia Bano, Rayees Ahmed, Inderpal Singh, Afsana Altaf, Sharafat Altaf, Aquib Ahmed, Nusrat Farooq, Bintul Hudah, Aqub Sheikh, Azra Jan, Amir Sheikh, Suheel Abdullah, Rafia Abdullah, Arjumand Gull, Maisor Ahemed and Shoib Mushtaq.
