| Rs. 1.50 cr distributed among Leh flood victims | | | Leh, October 01 The State Government has released Rs.1.50 crore as relief to flood victims in Leh district. It Gracious relief of Rs.20,000 has already been distributed among all the 37 houses holds, whose homes were completely washed away during the floods. Damages to rural infrastructure in Leh district caused by the recent flood was of the order of Rs.40 crore. 37 residential houses were completely washed away and 198 residential houses were partially damaged. 716 head works of irrigation kuhls were damaged and 233 culverts and small bridges which were constructed by the Rural Development Department were severely damaged. This was divulged in the General Council Meeting when it reviewed pace of the development being under execution in the district. The meeting was chaired by Chief Executive Councilor Shri Tsering Dorge. Others present were Executive councilor Agriculture Shri Tsering Norboo Lampa, Executive Health Shri Dorje Motup, Executive Education Mr. Tsewang Rigzin , Executive Councilor Minority Affairs, Mr. Mohammad Khan and all the Councilors. The MLA Nobra , Mr. Pintoo Norboo was present. The Deputy Commissioner, Leh Mr. M. K. Dwivedi and the district Officers attended the meeting. The meeting also decided to assist the flood victims under Indra Awaz Yojna in construction of residential houses. |
