Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) Jammu has appreciated Chief Minister’s gesture in forcefully pleading with the Central Team headed by Cabinet Secretary K. Chandershekhar, the case of restoration of concessions pertaining to Central Excise and Income Tax.
Rajinder Motial general secretary CCI Jammu in a statement stated that the withdrawal of this concession has caused a great setback to the development of industry in the state. The chief minister has rightly emphasized that the only answer to the unemployment problem is the proper growth of industry but due to negative policy of the central government by withdrawing the concessions halfway has created a situation where no outside investor is ready to invest in the state despite lot of efforts being put in by the Chief Minister in wooing the big industrial houses.
Chamber also acknowledges with gratitude the Chief Minister’s persuasion with the Central Team about the augmentation of power scenario by demanding liberal finical assistants for completing the power projects, handing over of Dul-Hasti to the state sector and also establishment of two thermal power projects to compensate the loss our state is suffering because of Indus-Water Treaty.
