| MLA Marh demands quality potato seeds for marginal farmers | | |

BJP Kissan Morcha State President & MLA from Marh Assembly Constituency Choudhary Sukhnandan has stressed upon the government to take immediate and effective steps to make available Kufri Sandhoori variety of Potato seeds besides MOP and DAP fertilizers to the poor farmers of Jammu region.
In a press statement MLA Marh stated the sowing season of potatoes will be over in next few days but the farmers of Jammu region are looking towards government agencies helplessly as there is acute shortage of fertilizers. He alleged the lack of coordination between Registrar of Co-Operative Societies/Controller of Fertilizers and Director Agriculture, has created such a situation and as a result of which the poor farmers are made to suffer every year. He demanded round the clock supply of electricity to the farmers so that they can run motors to pump out water and irrigate their fields as and when required besides framing a clear cut policy to ensure availability of good quality seeds and fertilizers at their nearest outlets. He also demanded providing them loans on easy terms and less interest rates from the financial institutions.
