| Kumar announces dates for different level elections in BJP | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Oct 8 BJP National Vice-President & Incharge J&K Affairs Shanta Kumar was briefed about the party’s political activities and the details of the membership drive carried out in the state in a meeting here. The meeting was attended by senior leaders, state office bearers, MLAs, district presidents and Morcha heads. Shanta Kumar while expressing his satisfaction over the reports submitted by respective district presidents said that the next step after completion of the membership drive is to take on verification exercise in order to authenticate the information provided by the members. Thereafter, the party has to start its election process. He said the BJP activists of Jammu and Kashmir really deserve appreciation for strengthening the party’s network at grass roots levels even in a situation when the state has not completely returned to peace and normalcy due to the ongoing militancy. He said although in a democracy, elections are healthy sign but we should try to reach at consensus. Shanta Kumar also gave his assent to the Verification Committee and the schedule framed by the state leadership on the directives of party high command to carry on the Verification and election exercise. The Verification Committee contains names of State Office Bearers and the MLAs. According to the election schedule, from October 26 to November 20 election to the polling booth committee will be completed. From November 21 to November 30, election to the Mandal Comittees will be completed while between December 1 and December 8, District committees will be framed and finally the party will elect its new State President on December 15 positively. State President Ashok Khajuria, Leader of legislators party Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh, State office Bearers, MLAs, District Presidents and Morcha heads participated in the meeting.
