| Commissioner/Secretary reviews road projects | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, OCTOBER 09 –The Commissioner/Secretary, PWD (R&B), Mr. Mehboob Iqbal today chaired a meeting of officers of Roads and Buildings department of district Samba, to review the status of various projects undertaken in the district and bottlenecks if any coming in the completion of the projects besides clearance of land acquisition cases of projects sanctioned under PMGSY.
The District Development Commissioner, Samba gave a brief resume of projects taken up in the district for construction under PMGSY and their present status and apprised that 272 cases of land acquisition were processed for acquisition against which 80% cases has been cleared for smooth construction of NH in the district.
As regards land acquisition cases for new projects proposed to be undertaken under PMGSY, there is not land compensation involved for clearance.
He said that land for construction of new Dak Bunglow adjacent to the newly constructed District Administrative Complex has been earmarked.
Commissioner/Secretary informed in the meeting that 6 road projects namely construction of Bari Brahmana to Badhori at estimated cost of Rs.30 lacs, Vijaypur to Gurah Slathian Rs. 110 lac, Samba Mansar road Rs.110 lac, link road from Smailpur to Khaddian Rs. 25 lacs, Vijaypur to Railway Station Rs 10 lac, Smailpur Bazar Road Rs.10 lac have been taken on priority basis as the funds for the purpose are available with the department.
He appreciated the endeavour of the district administration for clearing land acquisition cases for construction of projects under PMGSY including the prestigious project of NH.
