| Municipal Commissioner reviews developmental work | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 9: To review the developmental works undertaken by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) during the financial year was reviewed under the Chairmanship of Municipal Commissioner here today. The works programmer for various developmental works like lanes, drains, bathing ghats toilet complex, development of Municipal parks, rotaries etc were prepared to the extent of Rs eight crores, out of which approximately 50% is expected from govt and remaining 50% is being spent out of Municipal receipts. Commissioner said executive engineers of Civil Divisions have already undertaken 250 woks, out of which 205 works have been completed till date incurring an amount of 1.50 crores. Commissioner on the occasion directed the engineering wing to take up the remaining works of current year plan approved by the corporators of each ward and execute the same expeditiously. The meeting was told that electric wing has installed 16 High Mast Lights in different locations of the city and 30 more such lights are being installed. Besides this 1500 HPSV fittings are being installed in different wards. The Enforcement staff of Corporation was directed to ensure that the footpaths and bye lanes are not encroached upon, so as to avoid inconvenience to the General Public, especially during the festival days. Health officer and municipal vet officers were directed to carry out inspections/checking vigorously to ensure the wholesome quality of eatable and milk. Commissioner also inspected the construction of 36 dwelling units being constructed for the inhabitants Kusht Ashram at Bhagwati Nagar. The concerned executive engineer was directed to complete the construction within a period of two months and also expedite the other infrastructure facilities like lanes, drains and development of park in the Colony.
