APDF holds dharna; threatens agitation

DODA, Oct 9- To press their demands of opening of University campus, high court bench, creation of Chenab Valley Division and other offices, beside construction of Doda-Dessa Kapran and Sudmahadev- Marmat-Doda roads, the All Parties Development Front (APDF) Doda staged a dharna and organized a public rally at old bus stand here today. The Front has warned that in case their demands were not met within one month’s time they would be forced to launch an agitation for which the entire responsibility would lie on the government.
Earlier, the APDF in a meeting discussed the demands at length and urged the district administration to arrange free ration to the drought affected people of Chenab Valley, besides providing adequate drinking water facilities, cooking gas, kerosene oil .The agitating gathering also demanded creation of Doda Development Authority, Veterinary College, Women College, Women ITI, Polytechnic College as was agreed to by the former Chief Minister.
The speakers criticized the state government for not creating the Municipal Division at Doda as in the absence of which the developmental activity of the whole Chenab valley is suffering badly for want of proper supervision. They also demanded for a change in examination session from March-April to October-November.
The Front has also urged the concerned legislators to intervene in the matter and see that the genuine demands are met at the earliest. Beside others, the dharna was addressed by Advocate C.L.Thakur, Mohammad Ashraf Zargar, Ishtiaq Ahmed Dev, Gian Chand, Abdul Hamid Zargar and Hem R
