| VC inaugurates 3-day tech-fest “Titiksha 2009” | | | Early Times Report Katra, Oct 9- Prof. N.K Bansal, Vice chancellor Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University inaugurated a 3-day day Annual Technical Festival “Titiksha 2009” here today. Like previous years, this year too the three day festival from Oct 9-11 has been drawn in which many participants from various academic institutions within and outside the state are participating. The tech- Fest aims at promoting the concept and culture of using science and technology as a part of every aspect of the student’s life thereby developing a sense of respect amongst budding engineers towards their profession. As part of inauguration, an automated guided vehicle was designed by third year B. Tech students of SMVDU, Rahul, Prashant and Sarversh. The moving of the automated guided vehicle on specific colors and directions was symbolic of the inauguration of the festival. Inaugurating the festival, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bansal exhorted the students to continue with same grit and zeal as such events play a significant role not only in strengthening the bonds between teachers and students but also at inculcating team spirit and organizational abilities in students. During the next two days participants will be competing to show their technical skills in the field of Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical and Biotechnology engineering by participating in various events like technical paper presentations, project display and a host of other mind-challenging events. Amongst various intra-University events Algological, Reverse Coding, Battle of C, C++, Embedded Minds from different streams of college of engineering are part of the festival. Dean of Students Prof. Suresh Chandra presented vote of thanks while SB Kotwal and Yathesth Anand coordinated the festival.
