| Khoda addresses police durbar at PTS Sheeri | | Stresses jawans to dedicate themselves for public service | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 09: Calling for maintaining close synergy among the police officers of various wings of the police organization, Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Kuldeep Khoda said that sharing of each other’s experiences by police officers was key for attaining excellence in policing and delivery of better services to the people. Addressing the maiden police durbar of Commandants and Deputy Commandants of IRP and Armed Police of North Kashmir as well as the trainees at Subsidiary Police Training Centre, Sheeri, Baramula today, the DGP said that police is the protector of the lives and property of the citizens for which they have to take every care and responsibility so that people feel that police is their guardian and rescuer. Mr. Khoda appreciated the role of jawans and officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police played in the districts of North Kashmir while fighting militancy during the past 20 years and their contribution in bringing peace in these districts. He said that the jawans and officers of JKP and other security forces made supreme sacrifices to restore peace and normalcy, which will be remembered forever. He stressed the need for maintaining a better and close rapport between police and public for maintaining peace and mitigating the problems of the public. He said that police, peace and public are inseparable components being symbiotic in nature. Mr. Khoda stressed for better liaison with the public and speedy disposal of their grievances at all levels and asked the officers to ensure this to facilitate the people. He said that police fraternity is like a family wherein the higher formations always desire for the betterment and progress of their members, while at the same time they expect all members of this family to contribute positively and to their highest potential to discharge their responsibilities with utmost commitment and devotion. During the durbar, the DGP heard the jawans and officers patiently who put forth various suggestions and demands for betterment of the force. He discussed the same with the officers present on the occasion and assured the jawans that their genuine demands will be looked into on priority. Earlier, the IGP Armed, Mr. Dilbagh Singh gave a detailed resume of the activities of the training center where presently, 1261 trainees are undergoing training. Among those present on the occasion were the IGP Kashmir, Mr. Farooq Ahmad, DIG Baramuula, Mr. A. Q. Manhas, DIG Armed, Mr. Rauf-u-Hassan, DIG IRP, Mr. T. Namgyal, SSP Baramulla, Mr. Viplov Kumar, Commandants of all the Armed and IRP Battalions of North Kashmir, besides other senior police officers
