| JKP to host All India Lawn Tennis meet in Nov | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 09: After successful conduct of Water Sports and Martyrs Memorial Football events in Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Police is gearing up to host another mega event—All India Police Lawn Tennis Tournament in Jammu next month.
Meant exclusively for the Gezetted Officers (GOs) of the Police, the prestigious event has been allotted to the J&K Police by the All India Police Sports Control Board.
“The five-day event shall be held from November 23 to November 27 at different venues of Winter Capital. About 110 GOs of different ranks from all over the country are expected to take part in this competition,” Sports Officer, Jameel Ahmed told SAN.
As the state police team could not do well in the last edition of the tournament, this time efforts are afoot to raise a competitive and winning side. “Being host, we expect our team to perform well. So, as desired by the Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda, efforts would be made to select a better team this time. The process to select the team would start by the next week and probable will be short listed soon,” informed the Sports Officer.
For smooth and successful conduct of the event, different teams have already been constituted under the leadership of the Director General.
