| Chib, Sham review health care system in wake of strike | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, OCTOBER 09 - Minister for Medical and Technical Education, Mr. R. S. Chib and Minister for Health, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma convened a high level meeting here this morning, which was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, SSP Jammu, Special Secretary Health, Director Health Services, Principal GMC and other senior officers of Health and Medical Department.
During the meeting the Ministers took a serious note of the inconveniences caused to the general public in wake of the strike called by the Junior Doctors Association .They said that although an assurance was given from the government that their demands are under active consideration and the decision to redress their grievances will be known well before Darbar Move ,its unfortunate that the doctors have resorted to such pressure tactics by disrupting the health care services and causing great inconvenience to the ailing community .
The Ministers expressed dismay over the decision of the Doctors Association in Srinagar by extending their support to the Doctors of Jammu. However the Ministers felt that their decision to attend emergency services is a wise step on their party.
The Ministers lauded the efforts of the senior doctors for their firm efforts in ensuring the availability of medical care services to the people to the maximum extend. They also thanked the doctors working in the periphery of Jammu in the Health Department for taking care of the medical needs of the people. The Ministers also cautioned the striking doctors that such course of action will not be helpful in finding out solutions to their demands and is likely to complicate the matter further.
