| PCC demands impartial probe into Jammu youth’s custodial death | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 9- Surprisingly the Pradesh Congress Committee, after two days of recovery of a dead body of Jammu youth, allegedly killed in custody in Srinagar, has waked up to express shock and grief over the death of Rajnesh Sharma of Sarwal.
In a press statement PCC general secretary and spokesperson Ravinder Sharma on Friday demanded impartial and time bound inquiry in the matter.
It may be mentioned that on Thursday when family members of Rajnesh Sharma staged protest demonstration none of the Congressmen were seen protesting or raising their voice against the law enforcing agency.
Abruptly, a day later the statement issued by the PCC stated that, PCC has taken strong note over this mischievous incident of death in police custody due to torture.
Sharma said, "PCC has demanded a thorough and time bound impartial inquiry into the whole incident and stern action against those found involved.
Sharma aid that such incidents have left a blot on the face of the police agency which is meant for implementing and maintaining the rule of law and those at the helm of the affairs must take stern action to restore the confidence of the people. |
