| Workshop on ‘Policing reaching out to minorities’ | | DGP for healthy public-police relationship | | Sarita Jamwal Udhampur Oct 10-Reminding the police officers about the rights of the minorities as enshrined in the Constitution of India and other legislation, the Director General Police Kuldeep Khoda said that police force should create conducive atmosphere for healthy public- police relationship and public having full faith in police force. He was inaugurating a day long workshop on ‘Policing reaching out to minorities’, organized by the BPR&D Ministry of Home Affairs held at Sher Kashmir Police Academy here today. He stressed the need to identify the causes of communal tension, violence and measures to tackle the situation thereof. More than thirty officers of the rank off Senior Superintendent of Police to Sub inspectors attended the today’s workshop. Highly proficient resource persons invited from Delhi Professor Imitaz Ahmed, eminent Sociologist from JNU New Delhi Professor A.S Narang , School of Social Sciences shared their valuable experiences and thoughts with participating officers .Today’s workshop was a novel concept and introduced for the first time in the Academy . In his valedictory address Navin Aggarwal Director Academy clarified a number of queries from the police officers with regard to policing reaching out to minorities. The participating officers thanked the Director for organizing such valuable course and also praised the guest faculty for delivering informative lectures on the subject.
