| Jats accuses police of harassing Nagar family | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 10- Coming down heavily on police for harassing and torturing the family members and other community members of Ch. Nagar Singh in Amandeep murder case, the J&K Jat Baradari has threatened to come on roads against the police excesses. Addressing media persons here today, Choudhary Pyara Singh, former MLA and president of the All J&K Jat Sabha said that it is a matter of serious concern that relatives and associates of Nagar Singh are being targeted and harassed by the Police while investigating Amandeep murder case. “We have fullest sympathy with the family members of Amandeep who was murdered and we are of the view that whosoever is guilty should be punished under the law but at the same time the Sabha is against undue harassing of the families of Jat Baradari by the police while investigating the murder case”, Singh He said that the families of the Jat community who are directly or indirectly associated with the Ch Naggar Singh were being tortured mentally which has created such an atmosphere that these families feel humiliated at the hands of the police. “We are not interfering into police investigation but will not tolerate undue harassment to relatives and associates”, he added The Sabha member also suspected silent hand of some businessmen who were jealous of Nagars rising business in Jammu. “What is fun of harassing the employees who are not even remotely concerned with the case being investigated by the police?”, Gharu Ram, former Minister and general secretary of the Sabha questioned and appealed the Chief Minister to intervene into the matter failing which the Jat community will come on roads. The Sabha members also said some elements were trying to add communal twist to the case, which is very unfortunate. ‘What happened in Chopra murder case’ they questioned, adding ‘late Chopra from Hindu community was a leading cement businessman and was murdered along with other four members, while police is still clueless’.
