| PHE workers organize protest demonstration | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 10- The PHE employees and workers today held protest demonstration under the banner of PHE Employees United Front at Chief Engineer, PHE Office in support of their pending demands.
Hundreds of PHE Employees assembled in the office premises of Chief Engineer and shouted slogans against the state Government particularly the PHE authorities for their failure in solving four main demands of the employees in time frame.
The protesting PHE employees among other things are demanding release of 1 ½ days ex-gratia pay, minimum wages of Rs.110 per day to all the workers, technical grade to the skilled workers as per SRO-149 of 1973.
The agitating employees alleged that despite assurance by the Minister concerned their demands have not been conceded so far. They further said the wages to the temporary workers have not been disbursed till date. The Employees United Front has warned that if their demands were not conceded at the earliest, they will be forced to launch agitation again.
