| Batwal community submit memo to PM with demands | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Oct 10: The J&K Batwal community welfare association have submitted a memorandum to prime minister office, New Delhi highlighting the demands. The copies of the same have been sent to all centre and state minister for their sympathic consideration. As per press release the main items enshrined in the memorandum included. Sanctioning of economic-cum employment package to the Batwal community based on the report of its ethnographic study made by the central planning commission in 1994, representing of community members in the J&K legislative council and important government forums, recruitment of community youth in armed forces, waiving off agriculture/education loan granted to the poor and hapless farmers/students of the community, interest free loan to the community youth for setting up their own ventures, launching of special scholarship schemes for the students of the community so that they continue with their studies diligently, nomination of plus two medical and non-medical students of the community to the professional institutions located outside the state of Jammu and Kashmir for pursuing professional and technical courses, Unemployment allowance to the engineering graduates who have not so far been absorbed on service, allotment of residential plots on government land, to the poor, hapless and homeless members of the community, allotment of land site to the community in the vicinity of Jammu, for the construction of community facility hall and guru Gyagi temple and allotment of Anganwadi centres to the community women.
