Khoda holds Armed Drbar at Jammu

JAMMU, OCTOBER 10 – Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Kuldeep Khoda has said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have high expectations from the Police and they have to come up to their expectations by sheer dint of hard work and devotion. He said the real policing means addressing the problems of the people and ensuring the safety of their life and prosperity. He asked all the functionaries of the police force to put in head and heart for professional excellence and adopt a people friendly approach while discharging their professional duties.

Addressing Armed Police Darbar at Gulshan Ground Jammu, here this afternoon, Mr. Khoda said that these objectives can only be achieved by enforcing strict discipline, devotion to duty and people friendly behavior. He said that state police has performed in an exemplary manner in tackling militancy and its role in the smooth conduct of Parliamentary, Assembly elections and other situations in Jammu and Kashmir has also been commendable, adding that the force has made supreme sacrifices particularly during the past 20 years of militancy for bringing and normalcy in the State.

The DGP asserted that being head of police parivaar, his earnest endeavour would be to ensure welfare and well being of all the members of the force, their families and dependents. He said that grievance redressal mechanism would be strengthened at all levels to quickly respond and address all the genuine problems of the police force. He said that efforts would be to ensure availability of more and more resources for modernizing, expending and upgrading all logistics of the organizations, be it accommodations, computerization and other management facilities. He said that mega construction work across the state are in full swing for providing better residential accommodation for the jawans and officers. Many residential quarters were constructed during the past three years and allotted to the jawans and officers for residential purposes.
Earlier, the IGP Armed, Mr. Dilbagh Singh gave a briefing about the activities and deployment of Armed Jawans of various battalions working in Jammu division. He also addressed the jawans and said that the battalions working in Jammu division are working with zeal and devotion and performing their professional duties smoothly in their respective areas.
Among others, the darbar was attended by the IGP Jammu, Mr. Ashok Gupta, DIG Armed, Mr. T. Phonsung, DIG IRP, Mr. Danish Rana, all Commandants and Deputy Commandants of Jammu based battalions and other police officers.
