Udhampur Oct 11- To commemorate Vishwakarma Day, Viswakarma Sabha today took out an impressive Shoba yatra in the city in which large number of people participated .
The Shoba Yatra started from Vishwakarma temple and passed through several markets. The Yatra included colourful Jhankies depicting different aspects of life of Vishwkarma Maharaj .Devotees were chanting Bhajans and kirtans enroute.
The procession after passing through Mukherjee Bazar, Hospital road, Chabutra , main bazaar and Gole market culminated at MH Chowk temple .Large number of devotees, irrespective of caste or creed, participated in the procession.. Hundreds of people had gathered all along the route to have glimpse of beautiful Jhakies and pay homage to lord Vishwakarma
Speaking on the occasion, Sabha District President Radhey Sham and senior leader Jagdev Raj said that the true homage to this great architect of ancient times is to follow his teachings in true spirits and obey the principles of Vishwakarma and contribute for making the country stronger and prosperous. They appealed to the government to declare holiday on Vishwakarma Day. Meanwhile the district administration had made elaborate security and other arrangements for this religious procession.
