EarlY Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 11 : Hundreds of patients, including women and children, attended Army medical camp organised just near the Line of Control (LoC) for the people of remote and inaccessible areas of Uri sector in north of Kashmir.
During the camp, organised under operation Sadhbhavan, free medicines were also distributed among the patients, mostly those who were not able to purchase it from the open market.
A defence ministry spokesman said here today that Army has been organising camps in far-flung and remote areas so that people of these inaccessible areas could get medical facilities.
He said one such day-long camp was organised under the aegis of Uri Brigade at village Jabla, close to LoC. Jabla village remained main target of Pakistani Army before the ceasefire in 2003.
The patients had come from different areas where adequate medical infrastructure is not available, he said free medicines were also distributed to patients.
