| Dr. Manohar for rejuvenating Cooperatives as viable employment for youth | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, OCTOBER 11 -The state government is contemplating to strengthen the cooperative movement in the state by giving new incentives in setting up cooperatives so as to motivate the unemployed to join the movement and earn their livelihood respectable. This was stated by Minister for Cooperatives Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma in his address after inaugurating one day state level cooperative conference organized by the State Cooperative Union J&K, Jammu here today. The Minister assured the representatives of the cooperative societies that cooperatives will be strengthen by all means and the difficulties which are being faced by the cooperatives will be minimized. He also called for organizing cooperative education programmes/training programmes for the youth to steer them to join this movement.
The Minister stressed on making the cooperative societies more viable as the sector has tremendous potential for solving the problem of unemployment. Vice President National Cooperative Union of India, in his speech assured the board of Directors of the Union that NCUI has financially supported the training programmes in the past and will continue to support the training programmes in the future also. Other important dignitaries who spoke on the occasion included MLA .Sukhnadan, Ex-MLC Th Kashmira Singh, Chairman Citizen Cooperative Bank Dinesh Gupta, BOD Housing Corporation Balbir Singh Manhas, Chairman JCCB Mohinder Singh, BOD J&K Cooperative Union Romesh Verma and other prominent co-operators. The Registrar Cooperative Societies, J&K State assured full support to cooperative societies in all respects.
