| Ninth class student delivers child; Police registers rape case | | Youth arrested for kidnapping, rape | | Jammu, Oct 2 Police has registered a case of rape against some unknown persons after a fourteen year old hostel boarder gave birth to a child in Surankote area of district Poonch, while a youth was arrested in Manjakote area of Rajouri district for alleged abduction and rape of a minor girl. Sources in the police department said that a ninth class student of Jawahar Navodya Vidyallaya, Surankote was living in the hostel where she was possibly rapped by some hostel staff. The shocking matter came to light last evening when the pregnant minor was admitted in Surankote hospital. “As the girl was minor the doctors informed the police which came on the spot and took the case in their hands”, sources said. During the preliminary investigation it has been learned that the victim Yasmeen was putting up at Jawahar Navodya Vidyallaya where she might have been rapped. The girl was not able to give statement to the police as such a case, FIR No 156/06 under section 376 RPC has been registered against unknown persons. A police officer said that the accused behind the heinous crime can be arrested only when the girl is able to reveal his name. Meanwhile, a twenty-six year old youth, Amjad son of Muhammad Aslam, was arrested following the complaints of rape and kidnapping against him, sources told News Agency of Kashmir. It was reliably learnt that Amjad was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a fourteen years old Farhat Firdous and rapping her in captivity. If sources have to be believed the medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape on her and as such the boy was arrested under FIR No 68/2006 under section 363/376/109 RPC by Manjakote police station. |
