| Punjab based chain snatchers arrested in Samba | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 12 An inter-state gang of chain snatchers was busted with the arrest of two Punjab based snatchers from remote area of Samba district in Jammu region. ‘Two Punjab based youths were arrested last evening when they snatched a gold chain of a woman in Resham Ghar area near railway barrier in Ghagwal town of Samba district,’’ police said. The woman raised an alarm when the riders snatched her chain while they were overpowered by the locals later. The accused however, were identified as Raj Kumar, resident of Indira Colony, and Gurnam Singh, resident of Sunder Nagar in Pathankot. ‘The chain snatchers were part of an inter-State racket and engaged in snatching gold chains and purses in Jammu as well as in Punjab,’ police said adding that raids are also being conducted on their disclosure as more arrests cannot be ruled out.
