| Pak has no locus standi in J&K, Gupta | | ‘Another communal division won’t be tolerated by secular India’ | | Early Times Report Jammu, 0ct 12- Ridiculing advocacy of the partners and friends of the Congress that Kashmir issue should not be linked with cross border terror, the BJP legislator party leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has observed that instead of snubbing such follow travelers, the ruling leadership has always been buckling under such pressures resulting in more and more complicacies but for communal considerations. Talking to prominent activists from Doda, Bhaderwah and Bani-Basohli areas, Prof. Gupta lashed against the suggestions of finding solution of the Kashmir issue with Pakistan without taking into account the cross border terror. He said that cross border terror is a part of the proxy war launched by Pakistan against India after having failed to grab this state by having three open wars of 1947, 1965 and 1971, the slogans and suggestions for solution Kashmir issue with Pakistan are nothing but to confuse the real problem with Pakistan which has been defying every agreement including the much talked Shimla Samjhota. He asserted that Pakistan has no locus standii in Jammu and Kashmir and this should be made clear to secessionists and semi-separatists who are raising the slogans of autonomy and self-rule. In 1947 the sad communal partition was a folly and any more communal division cannot be tolerated by the secular India, he asserted. He also charged the Congress leadership of being devoid of national out look and ignoring the dire need for having closer ground links with adjoining Himachal and Punjab keeping in view the strategic importance of such land routes. He said despite these areas being full of bounties of the nature and having vast natural resources, the ruling leaders of the National Conference, Congress and its allies neglected them but for under regional and communal considerations. These activists brought to the notice of the BJP leader that people of these hilly areas are faced with unemployment but the prevailing drought and failure of the Kharief crops have added to the sufferings of the poor people and they are faced with starvation like situation. Despite loud talks for providing free rations and other assistance to the suffering lot, nothing on the ground has been done, they alleged. Prof. Gupta said that having no far sightedness, the New-Delhi leaders are paying too much emphasis for opening trade routes with Pak-occupied Kashmir and construction of Mughal and other routes to link infiltration routes with the troubled valley but Chamba-Bhaderwah road link has been closed over the years, the construction of Basohli-Bhaderwah road is hanging fire for the past over 25 years now and the execution of Padder-Pungi road is faced with uncertainties. But above all the construction of most strategic bridge at Ravi in Basohli area could not come up although during the NDA rule he (Prof. Gupta) as a Minister of State for Defence had even included this project in the Ministry of Defence. The BJP leader pointed out that there was a time when Himachal was considered far backward than Jammu and Kashmir but during the past years this Pradesh has made big strides in the field of development and today Himachal is one of the most developed states of the country, whereas adjoining areas of Jammu are still longing for basic needs of life because of the communal and regional mindset of the NC, Congress and their other allies.
