| Orientation program for newly appointed JSA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 12: The Department of Economics and Statistics organized one day orientation program for newly appointed Junior Statistical Assistants (JSA) at Directorate of Economics and Statistics here today.
Former Chief Secretary and MLC Vijay Bakaya was the chief guest on the occasion while G A Qureshi, Director General, Economics and Statistics was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Bakaya said, ‘In today’s scenario a good exposure and understanding of plans, planning machinery, process of plan formulation, evaluation and its concepts, designs and their monitoring is must for achieving the targets.
He impressed upon the newly recruits of the department to take due benefit of the training of this program and after they go in different offices, work for the service of the people of the state with dedication and commitment. He also appreciated the contribution of G A Quershi in strengthening the department.
In his address, Quershi said that this orientation will sensitize the knowledge of the JSAs and improve their skill and capacity further for better planning and building up of strong and reliable database system with the linkage of latest technology in the state besides familiarizing them about their duties.
Guest faculty who delivered the lectures included Veena Kumari Joint director (JD) Statistical Training Institute (STI), Rajani Regional Joint director (RJD), Dr H S Arora Surveys, Dr Kasturi Lal,, Sanjeev Gupta State Publicity Secretary.
On the occasion, latest publications of the Directorate including Quarterly Development Journal Jaib-i-Manjil in English and regional Digest of Statistics Jammu division were also released.
