| Wani threatens self immolation; denied relief | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 12- Alleging denial of relief by the Relief Commissioner Office, Jammu and Kashmir State Samaj Sudhar Committee, President M Y Wani threatened for immolation along with family before Relief Commissioner on October 17 if Relief Commissioner Office will fail to provide him relief. Announcing this in a press conference here today, Wani said that he was denied relief by the Relief Commissioner office under Valley migrant category which resulted into deplorable condition of his domestic and economic position. He informed that he was registered as migrant with the relief origination in 1996-97 with special zone DC Office Jammu but it is unfortunate that my migration/registration has been withheld by the Relief Commissioner (M) in 2008. ‘Since then I have been fighting for restoring my registration as migrant but till date nothing has been done and my file No 916 is lying with the Relief Commissioners office’, he said and adding, ‘In spite of my case having been recommended by Minister for Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation, and Principal Adviser to CM Mubarak Gul, his case has not been settled’. Wani said that not only Kashmiri Pandits, Muslims had also migrated to Jammu due to militancy but it is unfortunate Muslim migrants have been subjected to be discriminated by the Relief Organization. He appealed to the Chief Minister and Relief Commissioner to settle his issue before October 17 otherwise he will take hard step of immolation with wife and children on this date.
