| Save Cow-Save Villages campaign launched | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur Oct 12 -To create awareness among the people on the need to ‘save cow’ particularly farmers, on the usefulness of cow and to explain scientifically the economic value of cow in agriculture and medicine Viswa Mangala Gou Grama Yatra’ was organized in Udhampur late last evening .
The yatra was flagged off by Dharam Veer Gupta District organizer of ‘Viswa Mangala Gou Grama Yatra’ from Slathia chowk area on second day in which large number of men, women and sadhus participated who were raising Slogans “Go Mata Ki Jai” .
Speaking on the occasion organizer of Yatra said that the yatra is being organized with the motto of “Save Cow-Save Villages” and would covers number of villages of district.
Amarnath Sangresh Samiti District organizer Vikram Slathia speaking on the occasion said animals, more particularly cows, were deprived of their natural rights. The cows were being slaughtered and subjected to all kinds of atrocities. To save the planet from disaster waiting to happen, the yatra was being organized, he said, during yatra the organizers would take oath from the villagers that they would protect the cows.
He added that a signature campaign has also been launched simultaneously to demand legislation to ban cow slaughter and declare cow as national animal.
