| Resolve grievances of Junior Doctors (JDs): Tarigami | | | Early Times Report Srinagar Oct12- Urging the government to resolve the grievances of junior doctors, who are on strike in support of their demands, CPI(M) State Secretary and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has said that government should negotiate with the striking doctors to resolve their demands. Referring to the ongoing strike of Junior Doctors, Tarigami said instead of making assurances and commitments for resolving their grievances, the government should follow a time bound policy to assess and solve their issues. The CPI(M) State Secretary maintained that the Junior Doctors were genuinely demanding equalizing of stipend of junior and senior residents working in GMC Srinagar/Jammu with those of the Assistant Surgeons in pay band III and restorative benefits from January, 2006 in their favour, besides providing two and a half days salary in their favour. He appealed the striking junior doctors to call off the strike and urged the government to come forward for negotiation with them as the ongoing strike has paralyzed the services in the hospitals causing severe inconvenience to the patients.
