| LeT militant killed | | |

A Lashkar-e-Toiba militant was killed after fierce gunbattle with the security forces in border district of Poonch, late on Sunday evening.
Official sources told News Agency of Kashmri that acting on a tip off security forces launched a massive search operation in the forest area of Surankote, late on Sunday evening. Cordon was laid down around a militants’ hideout and the hiding militant was asked to surrender, reports said adding, the militant however fired on the troops leading to an encounter.
In the ensuing gunbattle, which lasted till wee hours today, one militant was shot dead. Though the identification of the slain militant could not be ascertained immediately he belongs to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).
