| Convent school organizes interschool competition | | |

Jammu, Oct 13: The 12th Dr. Mehbub –Ul Haq memorial interschool and debating competition was conducted in the presentation Convent senior secondary school here today. It was the regional round of the competition organized by Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and United Nations Development Programme. All the regional finalists will participate in the grand finale to be held in New Delhi on 21st October. The national winners will have the opportunity to attend the SAARC Regional Round to be held in Colombo in the second week of December 2009.
In the competition 16th schools participated in the debate the topic of which was “Act now to reduce global warming –poor women have a bigger stake?” The judges on the occasion were Arvind Jasrotia, Coordinator of Law School, University of Jammu.
Dr. Kavita Suri on University of Jammu, Prof. Dipanker Sengupta and Shevata Sharma.
The judges felicitated the participants for their efforts. The principal of presentation Convent Sr. Rosemma while addressing the audience said that it is our sacred duty to promote the integrity and dynamism of the national processes and become the agents of change.
