JMC launch drive against adulteration in various parts of city

Jammu, Oct 13: The municipal veterinary officer along with the team carried out an extensive drive in view of the diwali festival especially against the adulteration of milk and milk products. The team visited the areas of Durga Hall, Gumat, Sheedi Chowk, Bikram Chowk, Ware House, Gandhi Nagar, Nai Basti, Satwari etc and checked out 70 nos. of milk canes, while 15 nos of milk canes were sent to municipal laboratory to check the quality of the milk.

Acting on a complaint basis the team destroyed 8 kgs of meat found for human consumption being sold at Gujjar Nagar and Rehari. A fine of Rs 600/- was realized from the defaulters on spot.
