| Kisan Federation urges PM to release draught package | | |

Jammu and Kashmir Kisan Federation held one day convention at the village Kah Pota in Dansal Block of tehsil Jammu on the issue of drought. The speakers urged the Prime Minister to announce special support for the farmers in the shape of compensation.
According to the spokesperson of the federation the participants projected that there was complete drought this year and Kharif crops have failed in the kandi and non-irrigated areas.
Hari Chand Jalmeria advocate Convener of the Kisan Federation, while speaking on the occasion, expressed grave concern over the failure of Kharif crops this year due to short rain fall. He apprised the gathering that memorandum of demands was submitted to the Chief Minister through Divisional Commissioner Jammu but the govt. has not taken the matter seriously. He asked the Prime Minister to announce special support for the farmers in the shape of Compensation, Food for Work Programmes, Creation of Jobs in rural areas besides free seeds and fertilizers for the ensuing Rabi crops.
Dr. Ghanisham Singh Charak(State president All India Kisan Sabha), Udey Chand, KK Rao, Surinder Manhas in their address called upon the farmers to unite and fight for the right of compensation. Bodh Raj, Ch. Rehmat Ali, Noor-U-Din, Yalhoo Ram, Mohan Lal, Ram Saran, Mangat Ram, Ram Dhan and Ch. Parsad Ali also spoke on this occasion.
