| Mankotia for speedy completion of Tikri-Mand WSS | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Oct 13- To take stock of pace of progress on various on going schemes under PHE sector, the JKNPP MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia convened a meeting of the concerned officers here today. The Executive Engineers of PHE, PWD including AEEs and JEs besides a large number of people of the affected villages were also present in the meeting.
While taking review of drinking water supply schemes under execution in the area at a cost of Rs.1.99 Crore under ARWSS targeted to cater the drinking water supply needs of over 10,000 souls, the MLA exhorted upon the engineers of PHE to ensure completion of these schemes at the earliest. He asked PHE engineers to visit the areas lacking drinking water facility within two days to have on the spot assessment.
Mankotia also reviewed the pace of work on completion of 3-km Officers Mess at Salmerhi and asked PWD engineers to ensure the road is completed before the close of the current fiscal.
The people of the area also put forth various problems and demands pertaining to their respective locations besides sanctioning of more hand pumps in water scarcity areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Mankotia exhorted upon the officers to visit their field locations frequently to take stock of people’s problems besides ensuring proper utilization of funds allocated for execution of works to percolate benefits to deserving sections of the society in a stipulated time frame with no compromise on quality of works executed.
