| Editors visit CDI, appreciate indigenous art of Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR October 13- A team of Editors from outside the State led by Principal Director General, Press Information Bureau, New Delhi, Ms. Neelam Kapur today visited Craft Development Institute and Indian Institute of Carpet Technology and other interior areas of Srinagar city.
The team went round all the sections of the centers and witnessed the products manufactured in these units. They evinced keen interest in the products, especially shawls, embroidery, paper machie, etc and were appreciative of the indigenous art used in preparing these products. It also praised the efforts of the Institute in honing and promoting of the craft skills. They interacted with the officers and artisans of the Institute also.
Director Handicrafts, Mr. Showkat Zargar briefed the team about the activities of the Institute. He said that products especially the handicrafts and carpets are world famous having global demand. He said that all the designs of carpets are developed through computer technology.
Director Information, Khawja Farooq Ahmed Renzu also accompanied the team.
