| Boy missing in Handwara | | Family casts doubts about his arrest | | Srinagar, October 2
The family sources of a student who had mysteriously went missing six months back at Handwara do not rule out his arrest.
The student identified as Showkat Ahmed Lone S/O Gh Rasool R/O Sudal Handwara enrolled in class XI at Higher Secondary School Handwara, according to reports reaching here, indicate that he left for school for April 15 this year and did not return since then. Despite making all possible efforts, he, according to family sources, could not be located anywhere.
However security agencies do not confirm his arrest, but he, according to family sources, was arrested at the instance of one Manzoor Ahmed Lone for the reasons of having personal enmity with the missing boy. The family sources of Showkat allege that Manzoor is threatening them even today. A complaint about the missing of Showkat was lodged with P/S Handwara, but police sources claim the crossing over of Showkat to the other side of Line of Control (LoC), but his family sources reject the police claim. Gripped with panic, the family sources of Showkat have demanded intervention of higher police officials into the matter.
