Chib chairs annual athletics meet at Sanik School

Jammu,OCTOBER 14)-Minister for Youth Services & Sports and Medical Education, Mr. R S Chib has reiterated the resolve of the present government to provide sports infrastructure at grass roots level and for this, sports facilities are being provided at Panchayat level under PANCHAYAT YUVA KHEL EVAM KRIDA ABHIYAN (PYKKA).

The Minister stated this after inaugurating the annual athletic meet held on annual day of Sainik School Nagrota today.

While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chib lauded the role of Sainik Schools is guiding the students towards the nationalistic and patriotic lines and providing the country, the useful citizens of tomorrow who can lead the country toward new heights.

The Minister exhorted upon the players to develop a sense of true sportsmanship which in turn promotes national integration and communal harmony in the masses.

Mr. Chib said that sports inculcate discipline and endurance in an individual to overcome the difficulties in life. He said that developing a winning attitude is vital for success in life and participation in sports helps students to achieve the same in addition to good physical health. He said that coach plays a significant role in carving the youth and chennelizing their energies in right direction. He asked them to work hard to guide the budding players so as to compete at national and international levels. He emphasized on effective coaching which would serve the varied interest of youth and help them groom into perfect sports person.

The athletic championship is an annual feature of the school wherein the students from all the three houses namely Sindh, Jehlum and Chenab take part in various events. This championship provides an ideal arena for the aspiring young athletes to display their abilities.

Under, 400 meter race senior category, Mr Suresh Kumar won gold medal while Mr. Deepik Kumar won silver and bronze went to Mr. Wasif Majid.

Under, 400 meter relay race, Trikuta House fetched 4 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals in the athletic meet
