| Army organizes Fauji mela at Mendhar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 14- Krishna Ghati Brigade under the aegis of Ace of Spade Division organized a Fauji Mela at Mendhar in border Poonch district.
The mela was inaugurated by Shajeena Shakeel, a class 8th student of the Model Academy, Sagra in presence of civil dignitaries, military officials and a large number of locals. The Mela attracted a large segment of the population which participated in sports and cultural events organized for them.
During the event the Artillery guns, various communication equipments and basic Infantry fire arms were kept on display to motivate the masses for joining the armed forces. An information room with medical stalls and a dental chair was also set up for providing free check up to the needy people.
The State Bank of India, J&K Bank, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries Departments besides NREGA had set up special enclosures to educate the civilians on various schemes and special provisions instituted by the government for the benefit of the people.
Prizes were distributed to the participants who took part in various sports and cultural programs organized on the occasion.
