| Div Com visits Bani, Sarthal, review various dev works | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, OCTOBER 15 -Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal conducted a two days extensive tour of far flung areas of Bani to personally have access of various problems being faced by the people living in remote areas and to monitor the ongoing development activities being carried out by various departments for socioeconomic development of the area. He was accompanied by District Development Commissioner Mr. Sanjeev Verma accompanied the Div Com.
Dr Kotwal inspected the ongoing development works of tourist complex at Bani and Sarthal. He emphasized on the quality work and its completion within stipulated time. While inspecting the progress of Bani-Dhagger road he exhorted upon the executing agency ERA to expedite the works for early completion. The Divisional Commissioner during his visit of Sarthal stressed upon rationalized use of land for planned development of the area. He directed SDM Bani to submit a layout plan of the area for integrated relocation of asset.
He also met various sections of people at village Lowang who apprised him of the problems being faced by them. They also complained of unscheduled power cuts in their area. The Divisional Commissioner listened to their grievances patiently and accordingly issued instructions to concerned departments.
He inspected trout fist farm at Khurwah and also inspected water fall at village Kharkal where the investigation are being carried out by J&K SPDC for constructing proposed Sewa HE Project stage- I. He reviewed the progress of 120 MW Sewa HP project stage-II being executed by NHPC. He visited Dam site at village Gatti and Power house at Mashka and emphasized on the commissioning of the project by the targeted date.
Later, while addressing the district officers of various departments in a meeting held at Bani, he emphasized on maintaining work culture in government department and also advised all government departments to use CFL bulbs as energy conservation and stressed on the executing agencies for frequent inspections to ensure quality and timely completion of the projects
