| ADs CA&PD asked to conduct daily market raids | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, OCTOBER 15 - As per a circular issued by the CA&PD department, Jammu, to keep a check on the rates of essential commodities like halwai items, milk and milk products in wake of coming festivals, all the Assistant Directors have been directed to conduct daily market raids and ensure that the shopkeepers display the approved rate lists and charge the rates which have been fixed by the department.
It is warned that charging rates in excess to the notified rates is a serious offence and any person or trader or vendor, if found indulging in overcharging, action shall be initiated against the defaulter under the provision of Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
