| Mysterious death throws city out of gear | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 15: Mysterious death of a salesman at a local garment shop today threw the routine life in city out of gear for hours as family and relatives of the deceased put body at fly over near Tawi Bridge blocking traffic on both sides for over two hours.
An estimated 20,000 vehicles were stranded at different stretches of roads originating from or leading to the Tawi Bridge. Though the sit-in by the aggrieved family was called off after an assurance of probe by the Assistant Commissioner Jammu Rajinder Singh but it took many hours to bring the traffic in order. While patients suffered the most due to traffic blockade, over hundred passengers are reported to have missed their trains after being caught up in the jam.
Sources said that a youth employed by a readymade garment shop known as Paragon Tailors died after sustaining head injuries in an alleged scuffle with the owners. Family members alleged that he was employed at the age of 12 but was never given his full salary as owners would tell him that his money is being put into bank for safety. Now 40, when the employee asked for his deposited money totaling around Rs five lakhs this led into a scuffle.
Demanding stern action against the accused, the family staged a sit in at the Bridge laying dead at the intersections. It happened at around 4PM and the sit in was lifted at 6PM when officers of administration persuaded to the family to call of agitation on assurance of thorough probe.
