| Another breakthrough in Kishtwar bank robbery case | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 16 : Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have made another breakthrough in Kishtwar bank robbery case and arrested a Special Police Officer (SPO) from whose possession Rs 2.76 lakh were recovered. Sources said that police had launched a manhunt for the accused SPO, identified as Shahid Hussain, from couple of weeks but he was avading arrest. Police finally managed to apprehend the accused on Thursday and on his disclosure Rs 2.76 lakh were recovered, official sources told . They said that Shahid had actively participated in the robbery and was evading arrest despite having been named by his accomplices. Police has so far made a total recovery of Rs 51,41000 and arrested around six accused including the kingpin of the gang. A local court later bailed one of the accused after police filed a `favorable’ report before it. Sources said that some more arrests were likely in next few days and police was expecting to recover entire robbed amount. The accused SPO, sources said, is real the brother of two Harkat militants commanders, Zakir and Tariq Harkat ul Ansar, who were killed by the police and security forces in the area. It is pertinent to mention here that unidentified persons had barged inside the Kishtwar branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and decamped with around Rs 1.05 crores. Police later claimed to have solved the mystery and arrested around six persons in this connection.
