| CII reaches out to orphans on World Food Day | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 16- Confederation of Indian Industry (CCI) J& K State Council today celebrated the World Food Day with the orphans of Ved Mandir Bal Niketen and distributed milk, biscuits, fruits, sweets amongst the children besides donating Flour, Rice, Pulses, Edible oil etc for Bal Niketan. Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Puri Chairman CII J&K State Council said that World Food Day is marked every year on October 16 around the world to increase awareness, and encourage action against hunger. The ultimate goal is to promote the concept that access to nutritious food is a fundamental human right and cannot be denied to any individual Pointing towards the children, he said that when small children are malnourished, their physical and intellectual development may be permanently impaired, so due care should be taken to nourish them properly. Puri appreciated the efforts of the management of Bal Niketen in running the organization so efficiently. Purshotum Sharma, Secretary Bal Niketen briefed about the working of the Ved Mandir Bal Niketan Society. R C Gupta President Bal Niketen and Vicky Mahajan, Vice Chairman were also present.
